FCA scraps IPO research cooling-off period and unconnected-analyst information rule (PS26/16). Published 5 August, the policy statement removes the 2018-era requirement for a 7-day gap between publication of an approved registration document/prospectus and connected research, and drops the rule obliging issuers to give unconnected analysts the same information as connected-research analysts. The FCA says the old rules added cost and execution risk without clear benefit; the changes take effect immediately and are expected to shorten the typical UK IPO timetable by about a week, affecting issuers, sponsors and research analysts on UK listings.
