Australia

RBA renews and expands its currency-swap line with the PBoC. The Reserve Bank of Australia has renewed its bilateral local-currency swap agreement with the People's Bank of China for a further five years, raising the ceiling from CNY200bn/A$41bn to CNY220bn/A$46bn. First signed in 2012 and now renewed for the third time, the facility can be activated by either central bank to support bilateral trade, investment and financial-market stability. RBA media release

ASIC's CS 60 consultation (proposed remake of the low-volume financial markets instrument, raising the transaction threshold from $1.5m to $2.5m) closed for submissions today; no response paper has been published yet. CS 59 (sell-side research, RG 264) remains open, closing tomorrow. No update on the Rosherville derivative-action matter. The RBA board did not meet in this window; it held the cash rate at 4.35% (unanimous) on 11 August.

New Zealand

No material new items from the FMA or NZX. The RBNZ did not meet in this window; the OCR remains at 2.50%, with the next Monetary Policy Statement due 2 September. The MBIE capital-markets-reform consultation remains open, closing 25 August.
