Uranium & Nuclear Energy Corner
Tuesday, 2026-10-06 · covering the last 24h
Upstream — mining & supply
No material supply-side news cleared the bar this window — a check across Cameco, Kazatomprom, Paladin, Boss Energy, Deep Yellow, Bannerman, NexGen, Denison, Energy Fuels, Uranium Energy Corp and the Kazakh, Namibian, Nigerien, Canadian, Australian and US supply-policy trackers turned up only moves already reflected in recent editions. Note for tomorrow: Kazatomprom's shareholder vote on the China (SNURDC) and Russia (Uranium One) supply contracts closed today, with results due October 7.
Midstream — conversion, enrichment & fuel
Equally quiet on conversion, enrichment, HALEU, fabrication and the Russian-import-ban front — nothing dated to the last 24 hours beyond coverage already reflected in recent editions.
Nuclear energy — reactors, industry & demand
Google and Constellation sign a 20-year deal to uprate 11 nuclear units across three states, adding 890 MW to the PJM grid. The agreement funds equipment and efficiency upgrades at 11 Constellation-owned reactors in Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Jersey rather than a new build, lifting their combined output by 890 MW with power reaching the grid as early as 2028; Constellation puts the new investment at more than $4.3 billion and says the work sustains roughly 4,400 existing jobs and creates about 7,200 construction jobs, while Google and Constellation also expanded a separate technology tie-up around Google Cloud and Gemini for grid and asset-dispatch optimisation. The deal is the latest hyperscaler-nuclear PPA and drove a broad rally in nuclear and uranium-linked equities — Cameco and NexGen were both bid up, and Oklo, NuScale and X-Energy jumped in the same session. The Chatter
A proper look across X, Substack and fund/analyst notes this window didn't turn up a distinct, freshly argued take beyond routine reaction to the Google-Constellation uprate deal covered above — so no items today rather than recycling that coverage as if it were third-party commentary.
