Uranium & Nuclear Energy Corner
Wednesday, 2026-10-14 · covering the last 24h
No material news on the upstream mining and supply side or the conversion/enrichment side in this window — producer and developer newsrooms (Cameco, Kazatomprom, Orano, Paladin, Boss Energy, Deep Yellow, Bannerman, NexGen, Denison, Energy Fuels, Uranium Energy Corp), the Kazakhstan/Namibia/Niger/Canada/Australia/US supply-policy trackers, and the conversion, enrichment and fuel-fabrication beat (ConverDyn, Orano, Cameco Port Hope, Urenco, Centrus, Global Laser Enrichment, Westinghouse, Framatome, GNF) stayed quiet, and no fresh spot, term or SPUT/Yellow Cake move has surfaced since the last edition.
Nuclear energy — reactors, industry & demand
Floating-reactor startup Bluecore Energy buys its first batch of uranium. The Long Beach, California firm, developing a compact water-cooled small reactor for barge-mounted maritime power, said it purchased low-enriched uranium hexafluoride (4.95% U-235) through fuel intermediary WMC; the material is being held at a US nuclear fuel facility outside California pending conversion to UO2 and fabrication into fuel — the purchase is a fuel-procurement milestone, not a completed fuel load, and no reactor operating date has been set. The buy follows a $50m seed round led by Silverton Partners in September and an Approval in Principle from the American Bureau of Shipping in June. World Nuclear News
The Chatter
Checked the circuit again — Trader Ferg, The Oregon Group, Uranium Insider's public notes, Sprott's insights and FNArena's Uranium Week column — and found nothing both freshly dated to this window and freshly argued; the most recent distinct takes on record predate the lookback. Four quiet days running for this section now, which says more about how little new argument the sector has produced than about how hard we looked.
