SEBI

SEBI eases the FPI KYC review cycle, stretching it to up to eight years. A circular amending the FPI Master Circular replaces the prior annual-or-three-year KYC review requirement with a tiered schedule: specified Category I and regulated Category II FPIs move to review intervals of up to eight years, while other categories (including higher-risk Category II) move to two years; SEBI also dropped the requirement to flag information changes at registration continuance. Government- and sovereign-related FPIs and SWAGAT-FI FPIs, already on separate cycles, are unchanged. The change loosens the compliance burden rather than tightening it. Effective December 1, 2026. Press release

Exchanges (NSE/BSE)

BSE extends clearing-corporation interoperability to tender offers. Buyback, takeover and delisting tender offers can now be routed through either clearing corporation under BSE's existing CC-interoperability framework, letting members and custodians pick their designated clearing corporation for these offers; detailed risk-management and clearing guidelines are to follow in a separate circular. Effective on or after November 27, 2026. BSE notice

NSE's other filings stayed routine this window — surveillance-list refreshes (ASM/ST-ASM/ESM/GSM), auction and listing notices, and a pre-trade risk-control update tightening order-ID validation — nothing else touching algo trading, colocation, tick sizes, circuit limits or block/bulk deal rules.

RBI, IFSCA & other

No new FEMA/FPI, settlement or payment-system rule-making from RBI as rule-maker this window, and nothing equities-relevant from IFSCA.
