No material developments in this window. ASIC's news centre, ASX's announcements and Market Notices pages, the RBA's media releases, TMX Australia Exchange (formerly Cboe Australia) and Treasury's consultation listings were checked and show nothing new since Friday. The three open items already on watch remain unchanged: ASX has still not issued the Market Notice formally confirming completion of the statutory process for the Listing Rule 7.2 Exceptions 6 and 7 amendments (shareholder approval for S&P/ASX 300 bidders issuing 25% or more of capital in a takeover or scheme) — ASX's 23 September release said only that the amended rules are due to take effect 21 October 2026, subject to completing that process, so the formal notice is more likely around that date than this week; ASIC's consultation on updated RG 265/RG 266 guidance and withdrawal of RG 241 (CS 63) remains open, with submissions closing 5 November; and the RBA's September assessment of the ASX clearing and settlement facilities remains the most recent RBA output on ASX, with no follow-up this weekend.

NZX client-asset handling rules take effect today. The amendments to the NZX Participant Rules on client-asset handling — covering permitted use of client funds, transfers to overseas intermediaries in specified circumstances, calculation and reconciliation of client assets and outstanding obligations, buffer requirements and client funds account acknowledgements — commence Monday 12 October 2026, following NZX's December 2025 consultation and FMA approval of Rule Change Notice 1/2026 on 10 September 2026. A related, narrower change removing an outdated rules reference from the Quarterly Internal Control Checklist in the Participant Procedures also takes effect today. The FMA's consultation and market-operator-notice pages and the RBNZ's consultations site (consultations.rbnz.govt.nz) were otherwise checked and show nothing further new in this window.
