Australia

No material ASIC, ASX or RBA (FMI) developments found for 17–19 October. Checked individually: ASIC's newsroom/news-centre listings (nothing new since the early-September items already reported; its own site renders date fields empty on fetch, so this rests partly on search); ASX's market-notices and announcements channels (nothing beyond routine late-filer suspensions); Cboe Australia's compliance- and market-operations-notice pages (nothing since Compliance Notice 0002|26 in March); the RBA's media-release index (nothing since the 14 October appointment of a new Chief Risk Officer, which is not a rule change; its September 2026 FSS assessment of ASX remains the latest FMI item); and Treasury's markets-consultation list (no new entry found).

Still pending, now two days from its proposed effective date: no ASX Market Notice confirming completion of the statutory process for the Listing Rule 7.2 Exceptions 6 and 7 amendments (capping scrip issued by an S&P/ASX 300 bidder in a takeover or scheme at 25% of capital on issue, absent higher shareholder-approved or constitutional limits) has been located as of 19 October, despite a further targeted search. ASX's own consultation page still frames 21 October 2026 commencement as conditional on that notice, and secondary commentary (Law Council of Australia, Ownership Matters, Clayton Utz, King & Wood Mallesons) continues to discuss it as pending rather than confirmed, including open drafting questions on transitional treatment for deals announced before commencement. This is now the single most time-sensitive open item on this desk and warrants a same-day check once the commencement date passes. ASX consultation page

New Zealand

No material FMA, NZX or RBNZ (FMI) developments found for 17–19 October. Checked individually: NZX's "Upcoming Rules & Guidance Changes" page, which states directly that there are none pending; the RBNZ's consultations listing (open items remain the DTA capital-standard risk-weight proposal and the retail-payment-system issues paper, both carried over with no new closing or decision dated in this window, and neither is a new publication); and the FMA's custody-of-client-assets review (submissions closed 27 July, a workshop followed 19 August, and no post-consultation "what we heard" summary or reform proposal has been published as of 19 October).
